Priory Woods School & Arts College A Special Place to Learn

RE

At Priory Woods RE is taught as part of the ‘Knowledge and Understanding of the World’ and is delivered through cross curricular topics and support by SACRE.  RE is an important curriculum subject. It is important in its own right and also makes a unique contribution to the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils and supports wider community cohesion and promotes mutual respect and tolerance through developing pupils’ knowledge and understanding of religions and worldviews, recognising their local, national and global contexts.

At Priory Woods we aim to offer students opportunities to;

  • Learn about the place of religion and belief in their local community – recognising diversity and the influence of those religions and worldviews, and exploring questions about the meaning, purpose and value of life.
  • Learn about key features of Christianity.
  •  Learn about key features of at least one other religion or non religious worldview, exploring their significance for followers of that religion or worldview.
